Scottish Borders Art Glass
Scottish Borders Art Glass (2002 to 2016)
After Peter left Selkirk Glass in 2002, he and his son Andrew established Scottish Borders Art Glass in Hawick. This period gave Peter the freedom to focus entirely on traditional paperweights, which led to a major jump in precision and consistency. It also marks the emergence of Andrew, who developed his own direction and personal techniques that leaned toward sculpture work while still assisting his father.
Their output during these years was steady and mostly traditional work. The rise of online commerce was reshaping how artists and collectors connected, but Peter and Andrew had no online presence and no United States dealer at the time. As a result, the work from this era was strong and consistent but largely unseen outside Scotland.
