Peter Holmes & Paul Ysart Signature Cane Large Butterfly

Created in 2013 by  Peter Holmes, this prototype paperweight was made for a special PCC event celebrating the work and legacy of Paul Ysart.

The central design features a colorful butterfly with golden-yellow wings, black borders, and detailed eye markings, positioned over a pink flower with green foliage. Two slender yellow antennae extend above the butterfly, with PH and PY signature canes incorporated into the design.

The butterfly is surrounded by a concentric garland of alternating green-and-white floral canes and golden complex canes. Multiple polished facets around the perimeter provide additional views of the intricate composition.

An unusual prototype bringing together Peter Holmes' butterfly lampwork, complex millefiori arrangements, and his connection to Paul Ysart. Peter decided to not move forward with this design for the PCC event. This piece has never been made public for viewing or for sale until now. 1 of 1, 3 1/4" diamter
